I moved from NJ to Kansas at the end of October of 2013. My husband is in the Army and this is where we got stationed. I am not too happy about this move and adjusting has been difficult. First, I have a phobia of tornadoes. When I say phobia........I mean like a serious phobia. My heartbeat seems to accelerate and I get all dizzy when ever I hear rain and thunder outside. I really don't know how I will survive three years here. In addition to my extreme fear of tornadoes, there is nothing to do around here. Not much art and the shopping isn't too great. But I can't blame Kansas, I am from NJ and lived only 15 to 20 minutes form NYC. So I will always compare places to the previous places I have lived in and I have always lived in or near populated urban centers.
What I miss most about NJ are my cute niece and nephew. My sister has two children. Rosko, a cute 4 year old poodle and Lilly, a cute 2 year old Pomeranian. Aren't they just adorable. I MISS THEM SO MUCH I have been stuck in my house for two days now due to all the snow. It has been difficult especially since I have a coffee addiction. I ran out of coffee a day ago and have no caffeinated beverages in the house. I will definitely have to stock up for the next snow storm. Anyway, Today I have been having fun creating a handmade journal. I love journals but have never really tried creating one. I have seen many mixed media artists and bloggers create amazing journals and I thought I'd give it a chance. ![]() And in addition to my journaling I am reading Unfurling by wonderful artist Misty Mawn. ![]() And an image of myself wearing my handmade bohemian wood earrings. I really love making jewelry. They are like mini paintings that you can wear!! |
